Remember Us?

Just a short note to say hello from my sister and I.  I am Conni Lemen and my sister is Patrica (Patsy Lemen) Berkfeld.  We talked about her upcoming reunion to be held last weekend in Lyons, Kansas. While she did not travel from the Tampa Florida area to visit you we both were truly interested in how all of the class mates of Lyons High are doing.  Our brother David Lemen passed away eight 10 years ago.  We miss him. Patrica works as a teacher and I work as a Banker in San Francisco. I recognize the names on this blog and wanted to connect.  I just want all of you all of you know that our lives were enriched by being raised in Lyons.

The Website

My congratulations to Stormy for what he's done - the site looks great!!!!  My husband, Howard Marshall, Class of 1950, is doing fine in Emmonak, Alaska, volunteering for the summer with the Yu'pik Eskimo people there.  I'm spending the summer here at home in Kansas City, KS.

LHS Fight Song

I've been looking for the music to the old LHS Fight Song that the band played at games during the 1960's. The words went something like this:
LHS We've got a love for you, LHS, we've got a spirit  true,
Come on and shout for all the boys that play,
We'll shout hurray for victory today, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT....
LHS we've got a will to win, LHS we're gonna start right in,
We're gonna Give, Dig, Try, Fight,
We'll win tonight for dear ole LHS, our LHS.
If you can send me a copy, my address is in the alumni list.  Thanks,

Tornado's

As I follow the news regarding the Greensburg tornado, memories of past tornados in and around Lyons come back. One of my favorites involved Harlan Ebright's video taken west of Lyons. He sent it to CNN who broadcast it with his credits in the corner. His sister Elaine saw it at her home in Hong Kong and telephoned to confirm that everyone in her family was safe.
